Nowadays considerable efforts are being made to improve the properties of poly(propylene) (PP) (versatile thermoplastic) matrices by reinforcing it with fibres. Although excellent mechanical properties have been achieved in this way, life cycle assessment does not yield favourable results for PP composites when they are “traditionally” reinforced with glass fibres. |
