Silica nanoparticles were reported to be able to apparently improve the mechanical
properties of polymers and polymer matrix composites when the particles were mixed
into the polymer matrix [1]. However, it is normally difficult to disperse the particles
into the polymeric matrix without aggregation. Herein, we present a novel approach
where monodispersive silica colloids with variant sizes were synthesized by a
