Barcelona, Spain – June 23 2009 Merquinsa today announced at NPE2009, The International Plastics Showcase (Chicago, June 22-26), the launch of a new family of Pearlthane® ECO TPU grades made with DuPont™ Cerenol®renewably-sourced polyol in a strategic collaboration between the two companies.
It will complement Merquinsa's existing Pearlthane® ECO polyester and polyether ranges based on renewable sources designed for a wide range of footwear, sport & leisure, electronics and automotive applications among others.
Pearlthane® ECO is Merquinsa’s recyclable- and renewable-sourced specialty TPU elastomer range that recently received the Frost & Sullivan 2008 Global TPU Product Innovation Green Excellence of the Year Award.
DuPont™ Cerenol® polyols are ideal soft segments for thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers.
They offer high performance with the added benefit of being environmentally responsible using ingredients made with renewable resources instead of petrochemicals.
