Dr. Tang is Chair Professor of Chemistry at the Hong Kong University of Scientific & Technology and Cao Guangbiao Chair Professor at Zhejiang University. He received Ph.D. degree from Kyoto University, Japan, and did postdoc work at University of Toronto, Canada. His research interests include: (i) design and synthesis of new building blocks for the construction of new macromolecular architectures, (ii) exploration of functionality-tolerant, stereo- and regioselective polymerization catalysts, (iii) synthesis of linear and hyperbranched conjugative organic and organometallic polymers, and (iv) development of advanced materials with optical, electronic, magnetic, and biological properties. He has obtained about 30 research grants. He has published more than 400 papers, which have been cited by peers over 6000 times. He has been invited to deliver talks at international conferences for more than 170 times. He is currently a science news contributor to Noteworthy Chemistry published by ACS and is sitting in the Editorial Boards of many research journals, such as Macromolecules, Progress in Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer, Journal of Polymer Science, Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Journal of Inorganic and Organometallic Polymers and Materials, and Journal of Polymer Materials.
