Whileithasbeenrealizedthatmacroscopicpropertiesofend-usecompositesdependstronglyonmicro-scalebehaviorduringliquidcompositesmouldingprocess,thecomplexityofmodellingsuchaflowisinherentintheheterogeneousnatureandflexibleporestructureofthetextilereinforcement.Microdynamicapproachsuchaslatticegasautomatahasbeendevelopedandprovedtobeageniustechniquetosimulatecomplexflows.However,themodelssofarproposedaccountlittleforthesurfacepropertiesofresinsandfibers,whichplayadominantroleunderthecircumstancesofmicro-scaleflowwithlowpressuregradientandlowvelocitysuchasresinimpregnationintofiberbundles.Inthispaper,welumptheenergyconceptofHamiltonianfunctionintothetraditionalhexagonallatticegasautomatamodel.Thetotalenergyoftheresin-fibersystemisconsideredtobecomprisedoftheadhesionenergybetweenresinandfibers,thecohesionenergywithinresin,aswellastheworkdonebytheappliedpressure.Furthermore,theprocesstowardssteadyflowistakenasthestochasticmovementsofresinparticlesapproachingthestateofthelowesttotalenergy.Thenewmodelisimplementedtosimulateatransverseflowthroughfiberarrays.Theresultsofnumericalsimulationsareshownandtheeffectsofpropertiesofresinandfibersonthelocalflowfieldarediscussed.
