Anovelconductingnanocompositehydrogel,poly(acrylamide)/MWNT/clay,(abbreviatedasPAM/MWNT/Clay),weresynthesizedthroughin-situfreeradicalpolymerization.Themorphologyofthegelswasconfirmedbyscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),andthemechanicalstrengthwasalsoinvestigatedbystretchingtest.Theresultsshowedthatthepreparedhydrogelspresentedexpectedchemicalcomponentsandahighlyporousstructure.ThemechanicalpropertiesofthegelshaveaapparentlyimprovewiththeadditionofMWNTs.TheconductivitywasalsoimprovedslightlybytheadditionofMWNTs.Sothepreparedhydrogelshavepromisingapplicationsinthedevelopmentofbiorecognitionmembranes,electrostimulateddrugreleasedevices,andotheradvancedmaterialsbothacademicallyandpractically.
