Graftcopolymerofpoly(vinylidenefluoride)withPoly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PVDF-g-PNIPAAm)wassynthesizedusingatomtransferradicalpolymerization(ATRP).Inthisresearch,poly(vinylidenefluoride)(PVDF)wasusedasmacroinitiatoranddirectinitiationofthesecondaryfluorinatedsitePVDFfacilitatesgraftingtheN-isopropylacrylamidecomonomer.ProductswerecharacterizedbyFTIR,1HNMRandgel-permeationchromatography(GPC),respectively.TheresultsshowedthatalkylfluorideshavesuccessfullyappliedasATRPinitiatorsinthesyntheticcondition.
