Inthispaper,aseriesofblendfilmswerepreparedbasedonPolyacrylonitrile(PAN)andhydroxypropylcellulose(HPC).ThephasetransitiontemperatureoftheseblendfilmswasinvestigatedbyUV-visspectrophotometerandDifferentialScanningCalorimetry(DSC).TheresultsshowedthatthephasetransitiontemperatureofHPC/PANblendfilmswaslowerthanthatofHPCbecauseoftheadditionofPAN,andthemorePANcontentsthelowerLCSTofblendfilms.ThecontactangleandsurfaceimagesofHPC/PANblendfilmswerestudied.ItwasindicatedthatHPCcouldendowPANfilmswithnotonlythermo-sensitivepropertybutalsogreathydrophilicity.
