Duetotheirhighpowerefficiency,goodreliabilityandlonglifetime,etc,solidstatelightingemittingdiodes(LEDs)haveattractedgreatinterestsforgeneralilluminationcl].Inconventionallow-powerLEDtechnology,transparentepoxyresinsareemployedaspackagingmaterials.However,asthepowerincreases,thesevereyellowingofepoxyresinswouldoccurandsignificantlyreducethelifetimeofLEDsC2].Siliconeresinsareakindofhighlytransparentmaterialswithexcellentheatresistantproperty,servingasalternativepackagingmaterialstoepoxyresins[3].Wehavereportedthevisible-light-transparentandemission-tunableZn0quantumdot(QD)/siliconecompositesandZnoQDSi02/siliconecomposite[4‘5].Nonetheless,theemissionwavelengthisinalimitedrangeandthestabilityisnotsatisfactoryenough.Inthepaper,surfacemodifiedZnoQDsviasilanizationduringthegrowthprocesswereuniformlydispersedinasiliconeresinbyasolventmixingmethod.Thecompositesarevisible-light-transparentandstableinfluorescencebeforeandafterprocessing.AsthesizeofZnoQDdecreases,theemissionpeakchangesfrom523t0405nmunderUV-Iightirradiation,showingobviousquantumsizeeffect.TheemissionpeakofsilanesurfacemodifiedZnoQD/siliconecompositesred-shiftedonlyl-4nm,showinghigherstabilitycomparedtothat(8-38nm)oftheunmodifiedZnoQD/siliconecomposites.Inaddition,astheZnoQDmassfractionincreases,therefractiveindexofthecompositesincreases.ThenovelZnoQDmodifiedsiliconecompositeshavepotentialapplicationsinLEDilluminationanddisplaytechnologies.
