TheflameretardancyofsynthesizedPhenoxycycloposphazene(HPCTP)incombinationwithmagnesiumhydroxide(MH)wasinvestigatedinlowdensitypolyethylene(LDPE)byelongationatbreakofdifferentabsorbeddosesandlimitingoxygenindex(LOI)test.TheresultsindicatedthattheelongationatbreakishigherwiththeloadingofHPCTPthanMHblend,however,after7.5wt%loading,itwilldecrease.TheburningresultsshowthatthehighertheloadingofHPCTP,thehighertheLOIiswithoutexception.TheLOIofthecompositesampleswithirradiationishigherthanthatofnaturalones.AndthecompositecomprisingHPCTPwithoutmoltendropsduringcombustion.Inaddition,thermostability,structureandmorphologywerecharacterizedbydifferentialscanningcalorimeter(DSC),thermog-ravimetry(TG),derivativethermogravimetry(DTG),attenuatedtotalreflectancefouriertransforminfrared(FTIR-ATR)andscanningelectronmicroscope(SEM).
