Wereportthesynthesisandbehaviorofthermoplasticelastomers(TPEs)containingbothcrystallineandglassyhardsegments,withtheaimofcapturingthemechanicalpropertiesofconventionalall-amorphoustriblockTPEs,whileformingthesolid-statestructurebycrystallizationfromasingle-phasemelt.Livingring-openingmetathesispolymerizationandsubsequenthydrogenationgeneratepentablockcopolymerswiththearchitecturecrystalline-glassyrubbery-glassy-crystalline.Analogouscrystalline-rubbery-crystallinetriblocksshowahighinitialmodulus,yielding,andpoorrecovery,resultingfromplate-likecrystallinehardblocks.Inthepentablocks,crystallizationfromasingle-phasemeltcausesalayerrichintheglassyblocktoformaroundthecrystallites,limitingtheirlateralgrowthandgeneratingcompositeharddomains.Thepentablocksshowthelowinitialmodulus,strain-hardeningbehavior,andsmallpermanentsetdesiredforTPEs,whileretaininganeasily-processedsingle-phasemelt.
