Thereiscommonlyknown,thattalcactashomogenizingagentinTPO(blendsofpolypropylenewithrubber)processing.Itshowssimilaractivityinblendsofincompatibleplasticse.g.PETandHDPE.Additionofsmallamountoftalcsignificantlyimprovesdispersionofthecomponentsused.Examplesabovesuggestthattalcmightimprovealsodispersionofcarbonblack,silicaandotherreinforcingfillersinthermosetrubbers.Higherspeedoftheirincorporationshouldreducethemixingtimesandreducecostsofcompoundsproduction.
