Shearrheologyofpoly(acrylonitrile-co-acrylamide)(poly(AN-co-AM))solutionswithdifferentaveragemolecularweightsin1-butyl-3-methylimidazoliumchloride([BMIM]Cl)wasinvestigatedinalargerangeofconcentrations(0.1wt%~14wt%)attemperature80°C.Theviscositydataobtainedcanbereducedtoamasterplotofspecificviscosityηspagainstoverlapparameter(concentrationc×intrinsicviscosity[η])forallpoly(AN-co-AM)solutions.Theexponentsintheηsp~c[η]powerlawwerefoundtobe1,1.3and3.9fordilute,semidiluteunentangledandentangledregimes,respectively.AccordingtothedeGennes‘scalingtheory,theseexponentsindicatethatthepoly(AN-co-AM)behavesasflexiblepolymersinagoodsolvent.Mark-Houwinkexponentwasdetermined:itwasmuchhigherthantheθ-value0.5.Thisalsoindicates[BMIM]Clisagoodsolventforpoly(AN-co-AM).
