Onthechanceofunderstandingthemeltflowbehaviorandthemechanismofsandwichinjectionmolding,wemadedynamicsimulationresearchesonsandwichinjectionmoldingprocessbyemployingtheco-injectionmoduleinthesoftwareofMoldflowPlasticsInsight.Thepenetrationlengthofthecoremeltinsandwichinjectionmoldingwasinvestigatedbychangingtheviscositiesofmeltsandprocessparameters.WefindthatdecreasingtheviscosityratioRofcore/skinmeltswillgiverisetoenhancethepenetrationlengthofthecoremelt,owingtotherelativefluidityoftheskinandcoremelts.Furthermore,theinjectionvelocityofthemeltswillgreatlyinfluencethepenetrationlengthofthecoremeltamongtheprocessparameters,whiletheinfluencesfrommoldtemperatureandmelttemperaturearecomparativelyinapparent.
