Theeffectsoftheremovalofpectinsandwaxesincottonfiberonwettabilitywerestudiedbymeansofthecapillaryeffectanddroptest.Theresultsshowedthatthecontentanddistributionofcottonwaxesshouldbethekeyfactorsaffectingcottonwettingpropertyandpectinsubstanceshadnodirecteffectonit.Differenttreatmentsforpectinremovalwouldaffectthestributionofcottonwaxes,thusimprovingwettabilityofcottontoadifferentextent.
